World of Warcraft tournament players will have a couple of chances for bragging rights, loot and fun in the next month or so. Starting with the TCG battles at Gen Con this month, next month will see the North American region finals champion crowned in Boston.

First the Gen Con events:

Players from across North America will meet at the Gen Con gaming convention on August 14-17 to crown the 2008 North American Continental Champion. With multiple days of fierce competition, everyone will be hungry for glory and the epic prizes that go with it.

In addition to the Continental Championship, the Darkmoon Faire will be setting up its tents in Indianapolis, featuring an array of fun events and prizes for players of the TCG and the online game. And then the Regional Championship:

The 2008 World of Warcraft and Warcraft III North American regional finals will be held at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston, Massachusetts on the weekend of September 6-7. Players will compete for cash prizes and a chance to attend the global finals at BlizzCon 2008.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to try out demos of Wrath of the Lich King and StarCraft II on-site. The event begins at 9:30 a.m., and admission is free, so come by and check it out if you're in the area.
